Diane Williams

Diane Williams was born on August 5, 1958 in Hollandale, Mississippi to Mary L. Evans-Johnson and Sam Hill. She was the first and oldest child of Mary and Sam, and she was also the very first grandchild born and the first and oldest 1st cousin in the family. Diane departed this life peacefully on Wednesday, May 6, 2020 at Alden Estates Rehabilitation Center of Naperville, Illinois.

Diane attended Joliet Central High School. Diane always had a big smile on her face and whatever was on her mind, she said it. Diane loved to cook and one of her specialty was making tacos. During our dance contests, she would have the song “Billy Jean” by Michael Jackson played repeatedly.

Diane was preceded in death by her mother, the late Mary L. Evans-Johnson in 2019, father, Sam Hill and stepfather, Sam Johnson; two children, Demitrius "MeMe" Williams in 1998 and Sylvia Williams in 2005; one great-grandchild, Tra'Shaun Williams; one brother, Marshall McNeil in 2014; maternal grandparents, Sylvester and Lucille Evans; five cousins, three uncles, great grandmother, Alberta Smith and 13 great aunts and great uncles.

Diane leaves to cherish her loving memory: seven children, Dewayne Williams, Carleton Williams, Michael Williams, DeNisha Williams, Tunisha Williams, Cedric Williams and Anthony Cross; 27 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; three brothers and two sisters, Perry Evans, Rosemary (Ervin) Evans-McGee, Raymond Johnson, Steven Johnson and Rhonda Johnson; two aunts, Rosie B. Smith and Martha Gibson-Curl; one uncle, Lamont Evans; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of other family and friends who will miss Dianedeeply.
