Dorsey James Spencer

Dorsey James Spencer was born June 12, 1941 to Lee Spencer and Lucille Spencer (nee Holiday) in Jackson, Tennessee.

He attended school in Tennessee and relocated to Joliet, Illinois in the 60s.  He was united in marriage to Mae Clanton and to this union, one daughter was born. He accepted Christ at a young age and continued in his faith and was united with the St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church and served under the last Pastor J.W. Wright.

Dorsey enjoyed walking, singing and playing cards.

Dorsey is preceded in death by his parents, Lee Spencer (father) and Lucille Spencer (mother); and two brothers.

He departed this life on Monday, October 10, 2021 at Advocate Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn, Illinois.

Dorsey leaves to cherish his precious memories to his only daughter, Renee Spencer of Rockford, IL; one sister, Louise Spencer; grandchildren, Darnisha Burks, Johnnita Spencer, Diamond Spencer and Ricky Hood Sr.; great grandchildren, Ricky Hood Jr. and Kaylese A. Hood.
