Edward Charles Braxton was born August 1, 1975, in Joliet, Illinois to Robin Lynette Braxton and Edward Charles Holmes.
Edward accepted Christ at a young age at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Edward Martin Jr.
He attended Joliet Public Schools and graduated from Joliet Central High School in 1993.
Edward worked various jobs throughout his career as a factory worker. Edward’s last employer was Ascension Saint Joseph Hospital in the Environmental Services department.
Being a proud father and grandfather was his greatest fulfillment in life. He enjoyed watching television, harassing his children, being in the presence of his family and was seldom found creating his own rap music.
Edward is preceded in death by his father, Edward Charles Holmes, paternal grandparents, Lawrence and Laura Holmes; maternal grandparents, C.L. Braxton and Ruby Braxton; four uncles, Charles Braxton Jr., Jeffery Braxton, Willie Holmes and Lawrence Holmes; aunts, Adele Love, Jannie Welch, Classie Parrish, Juanita Braxton, Vivian Braxton and Stacey Crosby.
Edward departed his life suddenly on Tuesday, May 9, 2023 in Chicago, Illinois.
Edward leaves to cherish and celebrate his life to his two devoted sons, Donte Braxton and Darrian Braxton Sr., both of Laurel, MS; his devoted and loving mother, Robin L. Braxton of Joliet, IL; three brothers, Kevin Braxton and Robert A. Smith, both of Joliet, IL and Colton James Holmes of Norcross, GA; two grandchildren, Darrian Braxton Jr. and Jairon Samuel Braxton; step-mother, Marolyn Holmes; special friend, Tasha Jones; aunts, Chrystal (Allen) Anderson, Kim (Steve) Smith, Rosalee Brown, Eula Homes, Laurie Lou Holmes, Alberta Holmes and Dottie (Charles) Clark; uncle, Henry Holmes and a host nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
