Elaine W. Hester

Elaine W. (Smith) Hester was born July 22, 1938 in Joliet, Illinois to the union of Lily and Lavern Smith. Elaine was one of seven children.  She departed this life on Monday, August 12, 2019, peacefully with her family by her side.

Elaine was united in Holy Matrimony to Billie Joe Hester, Sr. September 12, 1959. To this union, four children were born.

Elaine accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. She was faithful in 

Christ under the leadership of Pastor Warren C. Dorris, Jr.

She was employed at Western Electric for 30 plus years until retirement.

Elaine was a singer with Little Alice and Impala.  She loved modern dancing, fishing, watching all sporting events, playing on her laptop, and spending time with her family.

Elaine was preceded in death by her beloved husband; Billie Joe Hester, Sr.; parents, Lily and Lavern Smith; one sister, Zirta Smith; three brothers, George, Donald and Stanley Smith; and one step-son, Tracy Williams.

Elaine leaves to cherish her loving memories; three sons, Billy Jr. (Cathy) Hester, David (Reva) Hester of Joliet IL, Mark (Ana) Hester of Markham IL, and one devoted daughter, Sabrina Hester of Joliet IL; and one step-son, Kenney Williams of Jonesboro, AK.; and one step-daughter, Valencia (Eugene) Smith of MS. She will greatly be missed by two sisters; Joyce (Paul) Woods-Sims, and Barbara (Charles-deceased) Stokes; one god-son, Quinton Harris; one special niece, Lisa Woods; nineteen grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
