God called home Elsie Sarah Rose McMurtry on January 12, 2026. Born April 15, 1959 in Cahokia Township, Illinois, she was the daughter of Dorothy Hunter and Phillip Hunter.
She dedicated many years of her professional life to Hotel Management, where her leadership, warmth, and natural ability to care for others made a lasting impression on colleagues and guests alike. Yet her most cherished role was at home, where she devoted herself wholeheartedly to her family. As a loving wife, she built a home filled with comfort and strength. As a devoted mother and grandmother, she offered unwavering support, gentle wisdom, and boundless love. Her greatest joy was found in the laughter of her children and grandchildren, and her legacy lives on I the family she nurtured so faithfully.
She is survived by her spouse, Elvis McMurtry; daughter, Angel Olden-Coe; son, Lindsey Olden; her siblings, Bruce Hunter, Dottie Hunter and Sophia Hunter.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy and Phillip Hunter; Darlene Hunter, Barbara Hunter, Dortheia Hunter, Bruce Hunter, Linda Hunter, Brenda Hunter, Junie Hunter and Velma Hunter.
