Emma Jean Ezell

Emma J. (McCain) Ezell, the daughter of Nelson and Mayme (Pinnick) McCain, was born.September 7  1938, in Lockport, IL.  Emma graduated from Lockport High School.  And was employed by Mission Services, Argon National Laboratory, U.S. Marines, and H & R Block.

Emma was a loving and supportive wife, sister, mother, and grandmother.  Some of the things she loved were reading, fishing, and eating.  But her greatest Love was for Jesus and His Church.  She became a Christian at an early age andremained faithful throughout her life.  She served the Lord through her chalk art, playing piano, and teaching Bible school.

On September 1, 1973, Emma was married to Xavier L. Ezell in Joliet, IL.  They remained together for 41 years, when Xavier passed.  The Lord called Emma home early Wednesday morning, April 9th, 2025.

She was preceded in death by her husband- Xavier L. Ezell; her son- Kevin L. McCain; her brothers- Donald Sommerville(Lenola), Herbert McCain, and Nelson McCain (Laura); and her sisters- Gladys Hayes, Ida Fisher (Michael)

Those left to cherish her memories:  her son- Keith L. McCain (Maria); her daughter- Avis Phipps (Andre); her grandchildren- Maya, Andre, and Malia Phipps; her brothers- Richard McCain (Shirley), David McCain (Sherry), Charles McCain (Dora); hersisters- Mary Alice King (Jeremiah), Martha Duria (Clifton), Charlene Jones (Louis), Betty Arnold (Jim), and Corine Woods (Tim); her close friends- Cassie Watson, and Gloria Chaney; and a host of friends, cousins, nieces, nephews, and Church Family.
