Emma Lee Bowdre Graham was born November 19, 1938, in Nesbitt, Mississippi, to the late Preston Bowdre and Vannie B. Joiner. One brother, RC Bowdre, preceded her in death.
She graduated from Tunica County Vocational High School in 1958.
Later, she moved to Chicago, Illinois and, joined in Holy Matrimony to Charles A. Graham, January 2, 1959. From this union, they had four daughters. (Youngest daughter, Charolette Graham Hills Guilford preceded her in death).
In 1970, She went to work for Stroger Hospital (formerly known as Cook County Hospital) where she was a faithful, dedicated, and hardworking Nurse's Aide for 36 years.
In 1976, she joined FC-COT ( Former Concerned Citizens Of Tunica) which was an organization where they raised funds for students who attended their Alma Matter to which scholarships were given. She was a member for 41 years.
Emma joined St. Luke Church Of God In Christ in 2002 under the leadership of Bishop James C. Austin Sr. and was an active member until her health failed and she was no longer able to serve.
Emma Lee LOVED to cook and she fed many! Her holiday gatherings were anticipated by anyone who was invited to sit at her table. She also loved to travel and her favorite destinations included Disney Land, Disney World, and several Disney Cruises. She also loved sports and the Chicago Bulls was her favorite team.
On November 12, 2021, Emma passed away at the age of 82 at Adventist Hinsdale Hospital at 2:40 am; seven days before her eighty-third birthday and exactly one week after burying her youngest daughter, Charolette Graham Hills Guilford.
Emma leaves to mourn her husband of 62 years; Charles A. Graham; three daughters, Deborah Ann Graham, Cynthia Denise Graham, Linda Faye Graham, one godson, Emmanual Mykel Harris, three grandchildren; Joshua Graham Hills, Geoffrey Charles Hills, and Chayah Leighann Guilford. One brother-in-law; Julius Graham (Rochelle); Cousin, Michael Neely.
