Erma Beatrice Ross

Erma Beatrice Ross was born November 8, 1926 in Florence, Alabama to Sidney Edwards, Sr. and Mary Lee (nee Alexander) Edwards.  She moved to Joliet, Illinois with her parents and has remained a life-long resident.  As a child, she accepted Christ and joined Second Baptist Church in Joliet, Illinois under the leadership of Rev. Holston.

She attended Joliet Public Schools and graduated from Joliet Central High School.  

She was united in holy matrimony to Robert Vernon Ross in 1963 and with this union, she welcomed two bonus children, Regina Williamson and Marilyn Perry.  

She began her career with the State of Illinois, Ludeman Mental Health Center in Tinley Park, Illinois and she retired in 1993 and went on to enjoy life with her husband.  She later joined Glory International Harvest Church in 2010 under the leadership of Apostle Deddrick Perry, Sr.

She enjoyed vacationing with her husband and being a loving housewife.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Sidney Edwards, Sr. and Mary Lee Edwards; maternal grandparents, William and Queen Anna Alexander; sisters, Anna L. Martin, Mildred Alexander Frazier, Margaret (Henry) Alexander, Sidneyetta Edwards and two sisters in infancy; two brothers, Sidney (Katie) Edwards, Jr. and Milard Edwards in infancy; and god-daughter, Ronna Ann Martin.

She transitioned to her eternal home on Saturday, September 19, 2020 at Salem Village Nursing Home in Joliet, Illinois.

She leaves to cherish her memories; her loving and devoted husband, Robert Vernon Ross; step-daughters, Regina Williamson and Prophetess Marilyn (Apostle Deddrick) Perry, Sr., both of Joliet, IL; loving devoted nieces/daughters, Ophelia (Dewayne) Miller and Mavourneen (Blake) Loveless of Joliet, IL; sister-in-law, Sadie Rose of Michigan; brothers-in-law, Willis Ross of Tennessee and Percy Martin of Joliet, IL; god-daughter, Alliyah McCauley of Las Vegas, NV; special friend, Chee-Chee; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
