Ernest Jones

Ernest Jones was born in Heidelberg, Mississippi, to Mr. Rufus Jones and Mrs. Alice Jones on September 11, 1960. He was called home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 26, 2025.

Ernest accepted Christ at an early age and joined Bethlehem Apostolic Church under the leadership of Bishop C. Jordan. He remained a faithful member.

Ernest was a landscaper and entrepreneur. He also worked as a handyman until his health began to fail. Ernest was loved by many, and to all who knew him, he will always be cherished.

Ernest was very kind and funny. He had a great sense of humor and was also very loving and caring. He especially loved the children, and he will truly be missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rufus Jones and Alice Jones.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving sister, Lillian Carr; Regina Pierce; Doris Jones; brother, Rufus Jones Jr.; brother-in-law, Darnell Pierce; sister-in-law, Moshe Jones; cousins, Marvin McDonald and Tony McDonald; and friends, Doris Jones, Martha Jones, and Tori Weeks.

He also leaves his daughters, Jasmine Cunningham and Tija Price, and his son, Albert Cunningham; along with his grandchildren: Jasmine, Yasmine Cunningham, Malasia Hudson, and Andretti Ollie Jr.

He leaves a host of nieces and nephews, including Latoya Turner, Ledontia Lockhart, Terrion Lockhart, Malchiluyah Carr, and Lacey Carr, along with many more nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He also leaves behind a long-time and dear special friend, Julie Rideout.
