Ethel Lee Brown passed away on Friday, April 10, 2026. She was born on May 10, 1944 in Bolton, Mississippi to Oddie Tucker Sr. and Annie (Atkinson) Tucker. She grew up in Bolton, Mississippi.
She moved to Joliet, Illinois where she became a longtime resident. Ethel was employed at General Motors for years and worked many years at Westell, where she retired.
She enjoyed spending quality time with her family and loving husband, Charles whom she also enjoyed taking trips with in the earlier years on his motorcycle.
Ethel was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother and friend. She enjoyed life and her family.
Ethel is preceded in death by her father, Oddie Tucker Sr.; mother, Annie Tucker; brothers, O.T. Tucker (Lilly), and Oddie Jr. Tucker; sister, Eular Tucker and a daughter, Angela Thomas.
Ethel Brown leaves to cherish her memories; her loving husband, Charles Brown of Joliet, IL; three brothers, Willie Tucker (Irma) of Jackson, MS, Percy Tucker (Etta) of Joliet, IL and Leonard Tucker of Shorewood, IL; sisters, Willie Mae Tucker of Bolton, MS, Carrie Berry of Clinton, MS and Anne Ruth Tullos (Joe) of Jackson, MS and a daughter, Sheniece Barnes of Joliet, IL; step-daughter, Karen Bickcom (Charles) of Joliet, IL; eight grandchildren, Quanisha McDonald, Fredrick McDonald, Manuel Pittman III, Jharvell Barnes, Shontanae Chandler, Shariece Barnes, Marion Bell and Ta’Naijia Thomas; eleven great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
