Evelyn Josephine Chester, 83, of Joliet, Illinois, passed away on April 28, 2024. She was a loving wife, mother, cousin, and friend. Evelyn enjoyed spending time with her family and tending to her garden. 

She is survived by her children William B. Neeley (Lynn), Thomas Chester, Jr., and Erika Chester; grandchildren Thomas A. Chester and Christianna Neeley; aunts Mary Martha Thompson, Eva Pinnick and Annie Pinnick; and several cousins, including Rita Pinnick Gordon, Pam Humphrey, Janice Love, Edna Anderson Singleton, Marcha Pinnick, and Karen Anderson Baker. 
Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Chester, Sr.; father, William M. Pinnick; mother, Gertrude S. Pinnick (Anderson); brother, William 'Buddy Pinnick; and sisters Patricia Y. Woods and Sandra Takeda, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. 

She attended Braidwood High School and Governors State University. Evelyn dedicated her career to the United States Department of Energy, working at Argonne National Lab until her retirement in 1995.
