Felisa N. Stephens

December 8, 1961 ~ July 31, 2023 (age 61) 61 Years Old

“Some Day I’m going to be called up to meet Him.” That day has come when Felisa (Lee Lee) Nannette Roberson-Stephens the youngest of five (5) children born to Charles and Bernice Roberson, Sr. in Chicago, Illinois in the county of Cook on December 8, 1961. She claimed her heavenly reward on Monday, July 31, 2023.  Her transition from earth to heaven to receive the promise afforded to all who believe. She now has met Him face to face along with family members who preceded her in death.

“A Wonderful Change has come over me.” Felisa accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and was baptized at the New Faith Missionary Baptist Church at an early age under the leadership of the late Rev. W.F. Baskin.  Her faith journey continued under the late Dr. Rev. Leroy Taylor.  As a member of the church she sang in the choir. Singing and leading songs in the choir was a testament to her melodic voice which was memorable and uplifting spiritually to those who loved to hear her sing praises unto God. She remained a member until she joined her two sisters in Oceanside, California where she resided until 2002.

Dubbed as a “Kindergarten Dropout”; Felisa received her formal education in the Chicago Public Schools. She graduated from Christian Fenger High School in 1980. She furthered her studies at Catherine College Business School for two years and received her certificate of completion.

High school also brought a sweetheart, Pleasant Stephens; they married in April 1984. This union bore them their two beautiful children. Their love for them permitted them to maintain and preserve their friendship over the years.

“Be Grateful” she truly was a gift from God: daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, auntie and friend. She was employed in various jobs in her life; she was working as a Health Care Worker at her untimely death.

Felisa leaves to cherish her precious memories her two adult children: Pleasant Anttwjuan Stephens (Los Angeles, CA) and Charlotte Rene’ Stephens (Joseph). Her precious beloved granddaughter; Princess Jo’Elle Brenae Wright; her two brothers, Aubrey Lewis Jordan (Elvira-deceased) of Oakland, CA, Rev. Charles Edward Roberson, Jr. and Mrs. Charlotte Roberson-Turner (Edward) of Oceanside, CA.  A host of cousins, nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews and so many special people that really enriched her life and loved her dearly.  Oh yes, don’t forget her “grand animals: Zena and Stella. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Bernice Roberson and her sister, Cheryl Bernita Roberson-Jones (Arthur-deceased).

Her time on earth was spent investing in the lives of others. She overcame the many challenges “life” brings to each of us in different ways. She overcame the incredible odds when others said it couldn’t be done. She persevered and made it happen! Although we will miss her every day, she will remain forever in our hearts. Lee Lee has “Gone Up Yonder to be with her Lord.”
