Glenn Haven Thomas Sr. was born November 11, 1938 to Spurogeon and Bessie Thomas. He was united in marriage to Wilma Dillard on September 12, 1960.
Glenn moved to the Joliet/Lockport area from Tuscaloosa, Alabama in 1950. Glenn accepted Christ at a young age and continued in his faith. He was a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Lockport, Illinois.
Glen was a dedicated employee at PreCoat Steel. Glenn was loving, caring, giving and always willing to help others. He was a devoted father, grandfather, uncle and brothe,r who always stood for family first. He enjoyed watching sports, traveling, barbecuing, and spending time with family and friends.
Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, Spurogeon and Bessie Thomas; brothers, Virgil and Houston Thomas; sisters, Hattie Robertson, Geneva Williamson, Eliza Bell Foster and Ruby Prince.
Glenn passed away on Monday, December 20, 2021 at his home with his loving family by his side.
Glenn leaves to cherish his memories to his loving wife, Wilma Thomas; seven children, Carolyn Shepherd, Larry Dillard, Glenn Thomas Jr., Mark Thomas, Michael Thomas, Jacqueline Thomas and Tonya (Troy) Huff; 23 grandchildren; 53 great grandchildren; siblings, Annie R. Dirl of Nashville, TN, Jurniece Coley of Knoxville, TN, Willie D. (Dorothy) Coley, Juanita Green, Dolly Jordan and Jerome Coley, all of Tuscaloosa, AL; one great-great grandchild; special grandchildren, Doniven Campbell and Darrien Prince; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
