Henry E. Pride Jr. was born to Henry E. Pride Sr. and Helen M. Pride on July 10, 1964 in Chicago, IL. He graduated from Farragut High School in 1982. A passion for cars and trucks later steered him to driving trucks for YRC Freight for 26 years. He was affectionately known as Skeewee. Always on the move, on the go. He had such a carefree spirit and simply enjoyed life to the fullest. Mr. Adventure would have been the name of his movie or the title of his book. You could always find him under a hood of a car, fixing or taking something apart, or out on his boat fishing for hours. His love for fishing began at an early age when his father first introduced him to it. Skeewee loved riding his motorcycle. He was a part of the Just Friends Motorcycle Club for many years. It was never a surprise to receive a call from Skeewee to let you know he was on his way, no matter how many miles apart you were from him.
On August 30, 1986, Skeewee married Sharon Hurd. They were married 15 years. No children were born to this Union.
Some of his famous quotes were:
“It is what it is”
“What cha working wit”
“People are who they are”
“Man I tell people that all the time”
Skeewee departed his life on May 10, 2019. His parents, Henry E Pride Sr. and Helen M Pride preceded him in death. Skeewee will truly be missed for his exaggerated stories and birthday wishes. He leaves to cherish his memories with, his love, Bertha Marshall, whom we are so grateful for all that you did for our Skeewee. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
