Herbert Cruz Jr.

Herbert Cruz Jr. was born in Chicago, IL on April 6, 1965, to the union of Herbert Sr. and Maggie Cruz. Herbert attended and graduated from Paw Paw High School in Paw Paw, Michigan. After high school, Herbert graduated from Dudley Beauty College in Michigan. 

Beauty was his calling. His chair was a ministry. Herbert hands blessed many people and he worked at various salons throughout Illinois and Michigan. Louise’s Beauty Salon, Silhouette Salon, Essence VIP Salon, Laws Concept, Brownsmith Salon, and 2101 Salon were just a few of the salons that was blessed with his professional presence. He was one of the best hair stylists in the South Suburbs. 

Herbert was always known for spreading love and joy. And in that; he found love. Herbert met Mickey Sigler in 2017. That love grew into a beautiful union. They were joined as one March 2, 2022. He loved “Chibo” as he affectionately called him until his last breath. 

He had a big heart. He was a blessing to many and especially his family. Although he did not have any children, he was a father figure to his nieces and nephews. 

He is preceded in death by grandparents Florence Vellos, Sylviano Cruz, Jimmie Harris, and Corrine Harris. 

He leaves to cherish his memories with his husband Mickey Sigler, Mother Maggie Ramirez, Father Herbert Cruz Sr., siblings Michelle Cruz (Dolyn), Catherine Miles (Craig), Selia Cruz, Dancello Cruz, Trevor Cruz, Sylviano Cruz, Heidi Cruz, Nidia Gillings (Taylor), Heriberto Cruz, Humberto Cruz, Nikki Cruz, and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, and cousins.
