Herbert "Kojak" Anthony Brooks Sr.

Herbert Anthony Brooks Sr. passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at Amita Saint Joseph Medical Center. Herbert was born January 29, 1945 to Herbert C. and Katie (Scott) Brooks. Both parents preceded him in death. He was the second of four sons born to this union.

Herbert “Tony” was raised in Edwardsville, Illinois where he attended elementary and high school and participated in football, wrestling and track.

He moved to Joliet in 1973; where he met and married Maggie Credit.

Herbert was very social and had a host of friends. Many only knew him as "Kojak". He was known for being a good fisherman, great at barbeque and being a mechanic. He loved helping others and was a good friend.

Herbert worked construction most of his life and was actively employed with RG3 Concrete Construction at the time of his demise. He excelled and received awards and certificates for his classes and accomplishments in that field.

Herbert is survived by his wife, Maggie Brooks and son, Herbert Brooks Jr. (Tiffany); grandson, Anthony, granddaughter, Albrinney; daughter, Erica (deceased); brothers, Gaylord (Janell), Scott (Elizabeth) and Allan (Caroline-deceased). He is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins all who mourn his passing.
