James “Jimmy “ Franklin Foster was born August 27, 1943 to James and Irene (nee Hall) Foster in El Dorado AR. He departed this life on February 26, 2025.
James was educated in the El Dorado school system and attended Washington High School. He later moved to Joliet, Illinois where he started a career with Quantum Chemical Corporation where he dedicated several years. James attended Rehoboth International Ministries in Joliet under the leadership of Apostle Steven Moffett. James was commonly referred to as Jimmy or Jim Brown Ski or Sonny by family and friends. If you had the pleasure of meeting him, he would always the phrase “so in other words, lets modulate on this”. James had quite a few hobbies like fishing, shooting pool, and cooking. He loved his leather jackets and dress shoes when he stepped out for a night on the town. He was very encouraging his family and friends to attended church. He made sure his kids could swim and gave them positive advice that would lead to a positive path in life.
James was preceded in death by his parents, James and Irene Foster, two sisters, Bertrice Foster Carter and Johnnie Pearl Foster. Also two brothers, Willie “Earl” Foster and Herbert “Earl” Foster.
He leaves to cherish his memory of his children, Jacqueline (Kizzie) R Foster of El Dorado, AR; James (Tasha) Foster, Detra Moore, Marcus Foster, Jeffrey (Amia) Armstrong of Joliet, IL; and Crystal Holmes of Monroe, LA. He also leaves one sister, Barbara Ann Foster Dunn of Detroit, MI: 23 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.
