JAMES LEE MILES was born in Chicago, Illinois, April 25, 1953, to Silas and Willie Lee Miles. He departed this life May 1, 2021 at 10:06pm. He was proceeded in death by his parents and his younger brothers, Walter Gerald Miles, Ernie Miles and a step brother Joseph Stewart.
He was educated in the Chicago Public School System, he attended Charles S. Deneen, William Ryder Elementary School, and John Marshall Harlan High School.
In 1972, he met and married, Betty Carter, to this union two daughters were born, Melissa and Rhonda Miles, and were gladly celebrated and welcomed by all the family.
His Grandmother nicknamed him Johnny, he later picked up the nickname’s JUICE (he’d drink all the juice and milk), and also MUSCLE (because of his physique) this was how he was recognized all over the city. He was also known for his special affinity for fine cars and motorcycles and even finer women. He held several other loves in life non-greater than his children. Johnny was very popular everywhere he traveled and held a reputation as a “Ladies Man”, which was always on display. His smile was contagious to all who met him and his escapades too many to tell.
He held several jobs, from stock boy, dock worker, to mechanic at various auto shops in Chicago and later as auto salesman at Chrysler.
In 2013, he married again to Amanda Williams, to this union one son was born Jakobia Miles.
In 2014, he was baptized by Reverend Howard Randolph, and joined the New Faith Missionary Baptist Church at 8400 S. Halsted. Several years later he joined Beacon Light Missionary Baptist Church, Reverend Calvin Read at 8803 S. Harvard, Chicago, Illinois.
He leaves to mourn, daughters Melissa Miles-Hall (Marvin), Rhonda Miles-Powell (Jeuray), Jessica Roddy (Erick), sons James Miles Jr., (Krystal) Jakobi Miles, and Jeffrey Taylor. Step Children Jerome and Jhynesis.
Four sisters Deloris Bryant (Marvin), Lachelle Stewart, Mary Conard (Gary), Pamela Stewart. One brother Sam Stewart, and adopted brother Joseph D. Brown
Grandchildren Melonie, Michael, Shawn Jr., Raigine, Melina, Miles, Jeuray Jr., Jazmynee, Elijah, Caleb, Jeffry Jr., Jamiah, Ava, Rajden, Jeneice.
Six Great Grandchildren, and a host of beloved nieces and nephews, Great nieces and nephew and his righthand man Jerry.
