James Clarance Lee Simpson Jr. was born September 9, 1999 in Joliet, Illinois to Yolando Robinson Clark and James Simpson Sr. He was one of seven children. He departed this earthly life on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 in Springfield, Illinois.
James grew up in Joliet, IL and attended Keith Grade School. He moved to Springfield and attended Jefferson Middle School and South East High School where he played Basketball.
James loved his family and the love he had for his son was amazing. He loved basketball and as a kid; he enjoyed fishing and building things with his “Paw” where he received his nickname “Bob”. He hated that name, but loved it at the same time, because his Paw gave it to him.James loved is family and his “Paw” was an amazing father figure, so he learned from the best. He was a sweet child that anyone would love to have for a son, grandson, and brother.
James is preceded in death by his grandfathers, Albert Robinsonand Penny Wright; great grandfathers, Ike Bass and Jessies Sellar; great grandmothers, Rachael Bass, Della Mae Robinson and Maggie Mae Simpson.
James is survived by his mother, Yolanda (Monty) Robinson-Clark; father, James Simpson Sr. all of Joliet, IL; his son, James Clarance Lee Simpson III, and his mother, Cherele Hatchette; grandmothers, Carol Robinson and Norman Simpson both of Springfield, IL; sisters, Desiree Robinson, Adreanna Simpson, Montanye King, Malaysia Clark, Nataysha Simpson and Jaylan Simpson of Joliet, IL; three brothers, Deshawn Bew, JevontaeMcCann, Amri Clark of Joliet, IL; two aunts, Jennifer Bass of Cincinnati, OH and Tamika (Derrick) Chaney of Springfield, IL; two uncles, Maurice (Rachael) Robinson and Nookie; two favorite cousins, Octavia Robinson and Dionni Bailey; a host of cousins, and family; three special friends, Andrew, Porter, Aaron Porter and Ricky.
