Jean Marie Baldwin

Jean Marie (Atkinson) Baldwin was born July 24, 1961 to Lucille Austin and Roosevelt Atkinson in Joliet, Illinois.  

Jean was educated in the Joliet Public School system.  She attended Joliet Central High School.  She worked for Mother Theresa Nursing Home for over 20 years and was also a home health care provider.  She attended church at Mt. Zion Tabernacle.  She loved arts and crafts and bingo.  

Jean was preceded in death by her mother, Lucille; father, Roosevelt Atkinson; her grandparents, Theretha Austin and Henry Austin; uncles, Jesse Dantzler, Chester Dantzler and William Austin,

Jean passed away on July 16, 2020 at Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox, Illinois.

Jean leaves fond memories to her son, Xavier Atkinson of Davenport, Iowa; 10 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; four brothers, William (Anna) Atkinson, Robert Atkinson, Curtis Atkinson and Ken (Rita) Atkinson; two sisters, Theresa Austin and Francis Atkinson; one aunt, Ida Dantzler; homecare workers, Sandra Drew and Desirae Robinson; her friends, John Sullivan, and Deloris O’Neil; nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and her service coordinator, Monique Pryor.
