Jeffrey William Shaw

Jeffrey “Jeff” William Shaw was born March 24, 1990 in Joliet, IL to proud parents, James and Katrina Shaw.  He was the youngest of five children born to this union. 

Jeff was educated in the Joliet School System and graduated from Joliet Central High School.  He was baptized in the Name of Jesus Christ at a young age at Christ Temple Joliet under the pastorate of Bishop J.E. Moore.

In his spare time, Jeff enjoyed playing video games and watching his favorite team, the Boston Celtics; but most importantly, he loved spending time with his children.  Being that Jeff simply loved any type of pasta, you could be sure to find him indulging in this Italian cuisine. 

Jeff passed away suddenly on October 14, 2023 at Ascension Saint Joseph hospital in Joliet, IL.  He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Hardy and Sclestine Shaw; and his maternal grandparents, Charles and Violee Smith.

Fond memories of Jeff will forever be in the hearts of his daughter, Cherish Gibson; and his son, Jeffrey Willam Shaw Jr., of Joliet, IL; his loving parents, James and Katrina (nee Smith) Shaw of Joliet, IL; three brothers, James Jr. (Andrea), Anthony of Joliet, IL; and Steve (Royce) of Daphne, AL; one sister, Heather (Brian) Kelley of Fayetteville, GA; eleven nieces and nephews; six great-nieces and nephews; six great-aunts, June Young of Joliet, IL; Ann Palmer of Niagara Falls, NY; Mary Smith and Janie Marie Smith of Wisconsin;  Larecia Tillman and Jerlene Edwards of Oklahoma City, OK; two great-uncles, Bishop Hollis Orsborn of Decatur, GA; and Lee Smith of Kansas City, MO; two uncles, Charles Smith of Palmdale, CA; and Larry Smith of Joliet, IL; special friends, Brian Washington, Rolelio Nelson, and Anthony Smith; and a host of other relatives and friends.
