Jerome C. Abbott Sr.

Jerome Cornelius Abbot, Sr. was born December 30, 1969 at Silver Cross Hospital in Joliet, Illinois.  He spent many years with his own Lawn Service and worked at Walmart Automotive.  He enjoyed helping and spending time with family.  On August 25, 2012, he married the love of his life, Carmen Abbott.

Jerome was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Abbott; brother, Felix Abbott; grandparents, Felix and Annie Abbott; a special uncle, Eddie Blakney, Sr. and a special cousin, Floyd Faint, Sr.

Jerome passed away on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox, Illinois.

He is survived by his wife, Carmen Abbott; seven children, Jerome Abbott, Jr., Jamari McAfee, Janae Johnson, Jermarion Abbott, Tanisha (Derrick) Martin, Kenya Houston and Latara Houston; four siblings, Stanford (Lashell) Abbott, Crystal Abbott, Ann Abbott and Sherri Abbott; parent-in-love, Ed (Gloria) Parham, Sam (Lorine) Mitchell; five sisters-in-love; three brothers-in-love; 13 grandchildren, Jerome Abbott III, JaMya McMurtry, Riley Nobles, Lawrance Allen III, Deericka Martin, Daiyaan Allen, Geniyah Parham-Martin, Keona Creal, Tyona Brown, Samuel Martin, Desiree Martin, Laurynn Houston and Logan Houston; 21 nieces and nephews; 20 great nieces and nephews and one great-great nephew; and a host of other relatives and friends.
