Jerry Page was bom April 8, 1948 to the late Sam and Essie (nee Curry) Page in Sylvarena, Mississippi. He came to Lockport, Illinois in June 1957. He transitioned to be with the Lord Wednesday, September 18, 2024. He accepted Christ at an early age.
Jerry attended Lockport Schools. He wrestled and played football for Lockport Township High School. He graduated in May 1968.
Jerry enlisted in the US Army and served in the Vietnam War.
Shag was one of the best barbers on the Hill. He loved family. He loved to cook and feed anyone that would stop by. He was an avid fisherman, loved to watch football and basketball, he also loved playing cards.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Essie (nee Curry) Page, five brothers, Wilson Lee Page, Jearld Jason Page, Sammie Lee Page, Willie Ed Page, and Eddie David (Thelmon) Page. One sister, Sarah N.A. Brown; in-laws Nathaniel Sr., and Annie Mae Thomas.
Jerry leaves to cherish his memories: his loving and devoted wife, Martina Page, son Jerry Page, Jr. Grandchildren, Jerricka F. Page, Matthew Henderson both of Oakland, CA and Jordan Page of Youngstown, OH. Great-grandchildren, Jerrimiah Goatley and Jalaya Moore of Oakland, CA, One brother, Zeno (Clarice) Page, six sisters, Ellistine Yarbrough, Magnolia (Joseph) Farmer, Vivian
Buckhanon, Justina Page, Brenda Page, and Undra Page. One bonus son, Charles (Delisia) Pruitte, In-laws Albert Brown, Lenora Page, Zattie Mae Thomas, Lorraine (John) Bolton, and Nathaniel (Stephanie) Thomas, Jr., and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
