Jerry Duane Simpson was born on April 11, 1957 in Joliet, Illinois to Ola Mae Simpson and Charlie Williamson. He received Christ at an early age and was involved in his church the Dwelling Place House of Prayer under Bishop Billy Drain.
Jerry graduated from Joliet Central High School. According to his mother, he was “a jack of all trades, master of none”. He had held several positions throughout his life, ranging from school bus driver, cable man, sales associate, and medical driver.
Jerry was united in marriage twice and out of each marriage he had a daughter-Amy Desaraie Simpson and Lasaundra Simpson.
He made his transition on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at Renwick Nursing Rehab in Joliet, Illinois.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Ola Mae Simpson and Charlie Williamson; his brothers, Larry Simpson, Steven L. Jones, and Keith Williamson.
Jerry leaves to cherish his memories: daughters, Amy Desaraie Simpson of Irving, Texas, and Lasaundra Simpson of Jonesboro, Arkansas; eight grandchildren; his sister, Betty Jewel McCullough of Joliet, Illinois; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
