JoAnn Crisp-Henderson was born JoAnn Duke to Curtis Duke Sr., and Wanda Duke in Joliet, IL on May 21, 1954. Her sun set on June 17, 2024, leaving us to gain another angel.
JoAnn worked many jobs, wore many hats, and retired from Joliet Township Transportation.
She was affectionately known by Jake, Jo, Shakey Jake, the one with the pretty green eyes, Auntie JoJo, and her favorite of them all, Nana!
JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Fay Duke and Janice Williams; brothers, Curtis Duke Jr., and William “Bobo” Duke; and her grand-cat, Sneezer.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her daughters, LaTonya (Jerry) Fuqua of Statesboro, GA; and Jennifer (Robert) Brown of Joliet, IL; sisters, Fannie King, Roslyn (Rory) Arbuckle, Annette Duke-Williams, and Kelly (Michael) Smith; brother, Curtis Duke III; aunt, Esterr Boykin; uncle, Nick Carson; grandchildren, Teaonta (Tremayne) Williams, Justin Fedrick; great-grandchildren, Karli Reed, Jalaya Harmanii, Royce Fedrick; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
