Judy Marie Washington-Mosley was born June 9, 1945 in Chicago, IL to the union of Willie and Marcella Benson. Judy was the eldest of seven children. She received her formal education in Chicago from Charles Sumner Elementary School and Marshall High School.
In 1963, Judy was united in holy matrimony to Alfred Washington. From that union three lovely daughters Yolanda, Tishonda, and Letitia completed this family. Later in life Judy also opened her heart to mother four boys; Torean, Shondalle, Isaiah and Nehemiah. After 15 years as a widow, in 2011, Judy found love again and united in marriage to Theodis Mosley.
Judy started her career at Western Electric/Lucent Technologies. For 20 years Judy was employed as an Internal Medicine Unit Secretary at Loyola University Medical Center.
Judy received Jesus Christ at an early age. She became a member of J.W. James A.M.E. Church. During her time of serving the Lord she sang with the Sanctuary Choir and was an elected officer of the Trustee Board. Judy also served as the assistant director and later as the director of the children’s choir, The Angelics. Judy always talked about being a great witness for the Lord and focusing on Jesus; this led to become a licensed Evangelist. Judy used her evangelist skills to teach the word of God in children’s church.
On December 23, 2024 Judy was escorted into heaven by the angels of the Lord. Judy was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Washington and her husband, Theodis Mosley, her parents, Willie and Marcella Benson, and her brothers, Ervin and Verdell. Judy leaves to cherish her memory: seven children, Yolanda (Harold), Tishonda (TiRon), Letitia, Torean, Shondalle, Isaiah and Nehemiah; her sister, Evon; her brothers, Donnie, Willie and David. A host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and friends.
