Julius (Coco) Flowers was born to his single mother, Carolyn Flowers, on May 28, 1969. He was educated in the Joliet Public grade Schools, Dirksen J.H. and Joliet West High Schools. After graduation, Coco joined the Armed Forces in February, 1988 - June 1995. During those years, he fought in three wars; Operation Just Cause, Desert Storn and Operation Solid Shield. After his honorable discharge, he relocated to Savannah, Georgia for employment.
Julius leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Yolanda Flowers, his parents, Isaac Singleton, Sr. and Carolyn Singleton; his loving daughter, Ashley Arnell Flowers, one grandson, D’Ontre Smith, two brothers, Damond (Iris) Singleton, Myles (Authrine) Singleton, his best friend, Tony Brown and Lisa Winfrey, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his brother, John “Scooter” Gholston whom he adored. Coco lived his life helping all who needed it and he had a great big heart of gold! He accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church. He was baptized by his grandfather, Pastor Isaac Singleton, Sr.
Julius Flowers will already truly missed.
