Loving Memory of Kevin Lamar Denson
June 13, 1974 – December 17, 2025
Kevin Lamar Denson, affectionately known to many as "K.D.," was called home to the Lord on December 17, 2025, at the age of 51.
Early Life and Education
A lifelong resident of Joliet, Illinois, Kevin was born on June 13, 1974, to Eudis and Hattie Denson. He accepted Christ at a young age at Refuge Mission United Holy Church, beginning a foundation of faith that stayed with him throughout his life.
Kevin was a standout athlete and scholar. After graduating from Providence High School in 1992, his talents on the basketball court earned him a four-year scholarship to St. Joseph’s College. He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, a testament to his drive and dedication.
A Life of Hard Work and Service
Kevin spent his professional career as a skilled crane operator for Parsec-BNSF Railroad. Upon his retirement in 2025, Kevin transitioned into a role that spoke to his character: a devoted caregiver for his parents, Eudis and Hattie.
Kevin was a man of many passions. He was happiest on the water, spending long days boating with friends and family. He was also a master at the grill, a talented mechanic who loved working on cars and boats, and a lover of music. Despite facing significant health challenges, Kevin’s spirit remained unbroken; he lived life to the fullest and was always ready to help anyone in need with open arms.
Family and Legacy
Kevin’s greatest pride was his family. He leaves behind to cherish his memory:
His Parents: Eudis and Hattie Denson.
His Children: DeMonte, Jalen, and Miah Denson.
His Grandchildren: Kayden and Aubrey Denson.
His Brothers: Eric Denson and Derrick (Latanya) Denson.
His Former Spouse: Kristen Denson, with whom he raised his three children.
Kevin also leaves behind a host of cousins, dear friends, and loved ones who will miss his generous spirit and vibrant presence.
"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." — 2 Timothy 4:7
