Lamont Markham, Jr., (affectionately known As. ‘Junior’) sunrise was on May 24, 1993 to the proud parents of Stacy Hall Henderson and Lamont Markham, Sr.
Junior had an infectious personality, he was a loving, respectable, dependable, intelligent, mild-mannered young man. Junior had a heart of GOLD and would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. Anyone that came to know him would realize he was truly a blessing to us all and we will forever cherish his loving memories in our hearts.
Lamont, Jr. graduated from Gage Park High School. While at Gage Park he was an All-Around Player playing in not one (1) but three (3) sports (Baseball, Basketball & Football). He would later go on to join the ABA Basketball League known as the ‘Bulldogs’.
Lamont, Jr. was employed at Jackson Park Golf Course until his untimely death.
You could rely on Junior for just about anything; need a laugh Junior had a joke; need a hug Junior would be there for support and those treasured memories; need assistance with moving, help around your house (he was a great handyman), need a ride to the store Junior would be there on the spot to assist with what you needed. And when you least expected it, you would get that call and it would be Junior just checking on you.
Junior was known to his friends as ‘Lefty’ for his unique and different use of his left-hand. But the truly UNIQUENESS of Lamont Markham, Jr. was: ‘To have known JUNIOR was to love him’.
Junior has been taken from us much sooner than any of us could have ever imagined, but he can now be rejoined with is his Big Sister Caprice, his Nephew Mylan; his Grandmother Joan Haynes; his three (3) Aunts: Sherry, Shikinna and Charlotte Hall; all of who are in HEAVEN with open arms waiting to receive him.
