Larry Shelton, age 72, passed peacefully into Glory on November 29, 2025, surrounded by the deep and enduring love of his family. Born on November 15, 1953, Larry lived a life filled with warmth, humor, and a quiet strength that touched everyone who knew him.
Larry adored his mother and was a devoted son. He retired early, saying God had called him to care for her — a calling he honored with unwavering dedication.
Anyone who met Larry instantly loved him. He was kind, wise, and refreshingly straightforward in the way he spoke. Larry deeply loved his family and often proudly shared that he had three sisters and two brothers, holding up his fingers as he counted them. His nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews held a special place in his heart; when they weren’t visiting, he was sure to ask about each of them. Larry loved the Lord, often sharing the conversations he said he had with Jesus.
Larry was preceded in death by his father, Henry Shelton; his mother, Ella Shelton; and his sister, Bobbie Shelton. He leaves behind a legacy defined not by material accomplishments, but by the countless lives he brightened and the love he gave so freely.
He is survived by his siblings, Vickie, Kevin, Henry, Glenda, and Felicia; along with 12 nieces and nephews and 15 great-nieces and great-nephews.
