Lawanna Williamson was born January 18, 1974, in Joliet, IL to the Union of Catherine Williamson and Horace Williamson. Lawanna passed away due to sudden cardiac arrest on February 20, 2024. At the age of 50, our beloved Lawanna Williamson was called home to be with the Lord.
Lawanna Williamson graduated from Joliet West High School in 1991, then furthered her education at Joliet Junior College. She worked over 11 years in the healthcare field as a caregiver through the D.R.S, Trinity Services and worked as Central Supply Tech at St. Joseph Hospital until her health began to decline.
Lawanna accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and was baptized at a young age. Her life reflected how God always had his hands on her. While she underwent many challenges, she continued to manage her household, finances, and health. She faced many near-death experiences and even when the doctor said she wouldn’t make it, Lawanna would pull through. Her life was a testimony and miracle through the Kingdom of God.
Lawanna enjoyed bringing the family together. She would always host get togethers at her home. She loved to help others in any way that she could even while facing her own battles. She would go above and beyond to be a blessing to someone else. Lawanna didn’t allow her health condition to deter her from living a good life. Lawanna’s life and testimony always reflected that she was strong willed and a fighter. She persevered through every trial and tribulation. She will be remembered for her outspokenness, strength, faith, love, kindness and being a true believer in the Lord.
Lawanna was preceded in death by her mother, Catherine Williamson; brother, Thaddeus Williamson, and nephew, Darvell Jones; She leaves to cherish her memories; her father, Horace Williamson; two sisters, Kim Williamson, and LaTesha Williamson; one brother, George Williamson; two daughters, Alexis Beavers, and Cyan Holman; one son, Larneal Holman; three grandchildren, Amari Scott, Brian Byrd Jr., and Layla Cleveland-Holman; six nephews, Daryl Williamson, Daniel Jackson, Davon Williamson, Donzell Williamson, Lionell Williamson and Isaiah Williamson; two nieces, Deja Jones, and Shantel Stewart; a host of great nieces and nephews; Lastly her Grand Pets, Mars, Tina Bina, Obie, and Friday.
