Lenora Smith was born May 28, 1944 in Minter City, Mississippi to Eddie Cobbs, Sr. and Viola Wilson. She passed away June 2, 2018 at 9:05 a.m. at Joliet Area Community Hospice.
Lenora accepted Christ at a young age at St. Peter’s Baptist Church in Minter City, MS. She continued in her faith and joined Second Baptist Church in Joliet, Illinois.
Lenora attended Blackbayou in Glendora, MS and West Dristricct in Summlion, MS.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Viola Wilson and Eddie Cobbs, Sr.; daughter, Linda Smith; siblings, Olivia Warren, Mattie Walker, Catherine Kelly, Alma Green, Geneva Lee, Joana Lee and Eddie Cobbs, Jr.; grandsons, Julius Smith and Jerome Cobbs.
She is survived by five loving children; Rosie Portis (Kelvin), Dell Cobbs, Willie (Patricia) Smith, Gloria Evans (Karl) and Bruce (Anttionette) Smith; sister, Ruthie Marble of Joliet, IL, Dorothy Brown of Calumet City, IL, Maeoma Johnson of Memphis, Leoma (Monroe) Jones of Joliet, IL, Ernest (Yvonne) Streeter of Omaha, NE; sister-in-law, Juanita Lee; 26 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
