Leon S. Strawder Jr.

Mr. Leon Strawder, age 72, peacefully transitioned on Monday, May 18, 2026, surrounded by love. Leon was born on November 21, 1953, in Chicago, IL to the late Birdree Booker and Leon S. Strawder, Sr. Leon lived a life filled with love, strength, faith, and dedication to his family. In 1996, he married the love of his life, Barbara Strawder, and together they built a beautiful life rooted in love.

Determined and hardworking, Leon was a forklift operator prior to his retirement. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Jason Strawder.

He was survived by his beloved wife, Barbara Strawder; bonus daughter, Katie Stokes, and his siblings: Edith Burke, Andre Booker, Hosea Booker, Larry Booker, and Jediah White.

Leon leaves to cherish his precious memories of his son, Torri Manard. He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

His wisdom, strength, and unconditional love will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends. Though he is no longer with us physically, his love and legacy will continue for generations to come.
