Leonard Parish, Jr. “Schlitz” was born on September 16, 1951 to the union of Leonard Sr. and Lula Mae Parish. He passed away unexpectedly on Friday, November 13, 2020.
Leonard affectionately known as Schlitz, L.P., Sonny, Bono, Pops and Daddy was a sharp dresser and loved his cars. Leonard had a smile that could light up a room and a personality that made others feel good in his presence. He loved family, food, friends and fun. Leonard was a person that worked extremely hard. After graduating from high school, Leonard went on to be a Welder at Caterpillar Tractor Company and an entrepreneur with many skills and talents. He had a passion for fishing and outside projects. Leonard’s biggest accomplishment was being a father to his children and grandchildren; he was a superhero and even as adults, he’s still seen that way. He’s always been there for them through their ups and downs and shared experience and advice on life and how to enjoy every moment.
Leonard was preceded in death his parents, Leonard Sr. and Lula Mae Parish and one son, Louis McCann.
Leonard leaves to cherish his memory; daughters, Tonnja L. May, LaToyia S. Dennis, Santonio Robinson, Katina M. McCullum and Bryson Payton; brother, Kenny Parish; sisters, Barbara Lynn Hamilton, Jeanette Parish and Doris Gray; 13 grandchildren and three great grandchildren; special nephews, Maurice Hamilton and Tyree Gaskin; bonus sons, Ronald and Donald Green; special friend, Betty Edison and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.
He will be greatly missed.
