Leroy Swayne Hill

Age 80 of Joliet, Illinois transitioned to his Heavenly Home on Thursday, May 30, 2019 surrounded by family. He was born to Malcom and Mabel Hill on December 5, 1938 in Princes Town, Trinidad and became a resident of Joliet in 1967. He was employed by Local 597 and retired in 2004 at age 65.

Leroy joined Brown Chapel A.M.E. Church and remained a faithful member until his health began to decline. He enjoyed spending time with friends and his grandsons; watching sports and attending his grandson’s sporting events. He enjoyed traveling with his family.

Leroy married Beverly on May 7, 1983. He leaves to cherish his memories his devoted wife, Beverly and children; sons, Gabriel (Geta), Eric (Jen), Larry, Dewayne (Shuree), and Myron (Melissa); daughters, Erica, Avion (Percy), Nina, and Roaslyn; siblings; brothers Wedley, Louis, Keith (Jean), Malcom; sisters, Eastlyn, Allyson, and Stephanie (Clency). grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and lifelong friends, Carl Procope and Remy Richards; sisters-in-law, Doris (Cal), Peggy, and Lorraine and brother-in-law, Walter (Shirley).

He is preceded in death by his mother and father, sons, Leroy Swaine, Leroy Jr, Andrey, daughter, Kendra and brothers, Bertrond, Trevor, Zeno, and Richard.
