Lillie Stephen Obituary

Lillie “Dolly” Mabry Stephen was born on April 26, 1942 in Madison County, MS to Isiah and Sadie Mabry.  She relocated to Joliet, IL where she was educated by the Joliet Public School system.  She later married Willie Stephen and to this union, two daughters were born.

She worked many years and retired from Shelby Craftco; her favorite past times were fishing with her brother, Homer C., playing at casinos with her brother, Walter “Nick”, family was important to her and she enjoyed the numerous family events.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Willie Stephen; daughter, Joanne “Jody”, great grandsons, Corey Kelley and Hershal Brown; brothers, Roosevelt Journigan, Homer C. Clerk, George Willie Camble, Isiah El-Amin and Walter “Nick” Mabry; sister, Ellarean Roberts and special friend, Milton Rouser.

She passed away on April 13, 2021 at RML Speicialty Hospital in Hinsdale, Illinois.

She leaves to cherish her memories; two daughters, Lillie “Ninnie” and Diana; three sons, Kevin, Donald “Plummy” and Cornelius “Tootie”, four brothers, Percy (Bettie), John (Carolyn), Howard (Breonni) and Luther (Pamela); three sisters, Callie (Alphonso) Yates, Sadie Maddox and Virgie Holmes; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.

Dolly will be missed by many.
