Lorie Wright

Our beloved Lorie Wright, daughter of Zena Bethune Wright and Terany Jones was born in February 19, 1980 in Chicago, Illinois. Lorie attended the Chicago Public Schools of Chicago and was actively pursuing her GED in Joliet, Illinois. Lorie accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and was baptized.

Lorie shared a passion for cooking which led to her showcasing her meals on social media. Lorie shared a love for gospel music and a passion for volunteering at the local food banks. Lorie had a unique gift for gathering friends and loved ones together while coming together sharing a meal and laughter. Lorie effortlessly made sure everyone felt welcome and loved. Lorie‘s heart was genuine, helping out anywhere she could; often opening her home and heart to her friends and family. As a result of her generous spirit and pleasant personality, Lorie is loved by many. Lorie‘s influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew her. She quietly departed this life on Friday, February 27, 2026 at 4:20 PM at Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her nephew, Lamar. 

Lorie's beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her parents, Zena Wright and Terany Jones; children, Lennell Berry and Jasmine Wilson; siblings, Francesca Wright, Shawna, FiFi, Wanda Jones, Star Jones, Terany Jones, and Charles Jones; nieces and nephews, Lorie Wright, Anthony King, Jr., Ja'lisa Wright, Elise Wright, and Ember McNear;  grandchildren, Ina Wilson and Milia Wilson. A special thank you is extended to her godmother, Yetta Reeves, Geraldine Lindsey, Tranelle Green, Jessie Porter, Justine Porter, Jestin Porter, Quineasha Reeves, Jahiem Reeves, and Jarvis Reeves.
