In Loving Memory of Ms. Louise Henderson
We celebrate the incredible life of our beloved, Ms. Louise Henderson who graced this world for 90 wonderful years. Born in Yazoo City, Mississippi, to Elizabeth and Arthur Henderson Sr., who preceded her in death. She was one of eleven siblings, (six preceded her in death); Arthur Jr. (Dorris Mae), James, Robert Lee (Ernestine), John Sr. (Dorothy), Roger Habeeb Dunn-El (Sandra), Willie Sr. (Mary), Thomas (Betty), Marybell (Earl), Cathy (Larthell), Christine (Leonard). She grew up surrounded by faith, resilience, and the warmth of family. These values became the guiding force of her life, shaping her into the loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend we will forever cherish.
She pursued her education in Health Care at Joliet Junior College, laying the foundation for a lifelong commitment to serving others. Her professional journey began at U.S. Steel before she dedicated two decades of service to the Illinois Department of Corrections. Driven by her passion for caregiving, she later embraced her calling as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Sunny Hill Nursing Home, where she found fulfillment in making a difference until her well-earned retirement.
Beyond her career, she found joy in gardening, collecting antiques, and expressing herself as a true fashionista. Her love for beauty—both in nature and in life—was evident in all she did.
Though she was born in Mississippi, she spent her adult years in Chicago before relocating to Joliet, Illinois, where she built a loving home and raised her family. She was a devoted mother to ten children, one of whom preceded her in death, Quentin. Her strength, warmth, and unwavering love were the foundation of her family, and her legacy will live on through the lives she touched.
She is survived by her cherished children, George (Renee), Kenneth, Sharon (Reb), Phyllis (Bedford-deceased), Lisa (Clayton), Vickie (Zackery), Robert, Kerry, Reginald (Dominique),
and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, siblings, cousins, nieces and nephews and loving family and friends who will forever hold her memory in their hearts..
