Lydia Rose Price Turner-Allen was born in Chicago, IL on August 30, 1959, to Marion Price. She was the fourth child of eight children. Her father, Sam Weast, stepfather, Charlie Smith, one brother Andre Smith, one sister, Tanya Page, two nephews Chester T. Price and Michael Taylor preceded her in death.

Lydia enjoyed working with her hands. After graduating from South Shore High School, she went on to train in cosmetology. Later, she became employed by Marshall Fields until her health prevented her from performing various tasks.  Lydia enjoyed firing up the grill, cooking and spending time with her family.

Lydia was six months old when her mother, Marion Smith Joined the Old Landmark Church of God Holiness in Christ under the leadership of the late, Apostle R.L. Mitchell.
