Mandy Mae Craig was born May 31, 1948 in Brookhaven, MS to McKinley and Betty Craig. She departed her life on March 5, 2024 at Hospice in Joliet, IL.
Mandy attended Alexander High School in Brookhaven and graduated in 1966. She moved to Joliet, IL in 1967.
She was gainfully employed at the College of St. Francis for 37 years until her retirement. She was also employed by the Joliet Correctional System for three years.
Mandy joined St. Paul M.B. Church where she was a member for over 40 years, serving under leadership of Pastor Edward Martin, Jr., and presently under Pastor Bennie L. Yarbough. She was a loving, caring woman sharing and caring with a beautiful smile that was everything and more. Mandy’s time here on earth with God was very precious journey. She loved going to Golden Corral to eat with her church members and sister. She would say, “Gotta to be early, can’t be late.”
Mandy is preceded in death by her parents, McKinley and Betty Craig; siblings, Earline Craig, Steve “Mose” Craig, Willie B. (Alice)
Craig, Charles (Essie Mae) Craig, Dan Craig, Henry Lee Craig and J.T., Hendrietta (Wilma) Craig Dodds, Janie Pearl Green Craig, Mary (James) Craig Quarles, Annie Mae (Mack) Brown, Ida Mae Craig, and Vera Mae Craig.
Mandy leaves to cherish her memories: her loving children, Alice Farrier, Chris Craig; one loving grandson, Christopher Farrier; two great-grandchildren, Kianna Zohemy Farrier, and Kyrie Angello Farrier; two sisters, Clementine (Charles) Craig Titus of Joliet, IL; and Estella Maxwell of Brookhaven, MS; also a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and also a very special classmate/friend, Shirley Braxton of Brookhaven, MS; her friends, Pastor Bennie and Sister Kwanna Yarbough, Gwen Dickerson, Edith Dixon, Dorothy Hayes, Kathy Gooch, and Ms. Hopper, Ermia Logan, and Clara Ruth Graham.
