Margaret Lynn Nixon

Margaret Nixon, 72, of Joliet, Illinois, passed away on July 21, 2026. Born on September 13, 1953, in Joliet, Illinois, Margaret was a lifelong resident who touched the lives of many through her love, kindness, and devotion to her family and friends.

Margaret and John Nixon’s journey together began long before marriage. After knowing each other since junior high school, their friendship blossomed into love during their high school years. In 1975, Margaret married her sweetheart, John, beginning a beautiful union that would span more than five decades. Their love was blessed with two beautiful children, and in June 2026, Margaret and John celebrated 51 years of marriage together.

Margaret had a deep love for her family and close friends, especially her grandchildren, who held a very special place in her heart. She enjoyed music, with a particular appreciation for Will Downing and KEM. She also developed a fond love for listening to audiobooks, which brought her comfort and enjoyment.

Margaret began her career at Pactiv, formerly known as Mobile Plastics, in Frankfort, Illinois, in 1972, where she created many lasting memories and friendships before retiring.

She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband, John Nixon; her children, Roderick Nixon and Jennifer (Damien) Arthur; her siblings, Thomas Williams and Rowanna Allen; her grandchildren, Alexis Nixon, Andrew Nixon, DJ Arthur, and Adonis Arthur; her brother-in-law, Carey (Joy) Nixon; her sister-in-law, Debra Betts; her friend, Linda Range; her special friend, Ruby Range; and numerous family members and friends who will continue to cherish her memory.

Margaret was preceded in death by her grandmother, Mary Simpson; her mother, Rebecca Williams; her brother, Phillips Williams; her sisters, Deborah Williams and Toni Williams; her brothers-in-law, Joseph Nixon and Mark Nixon; and her sister-in-law, Annette Nixon.

Margaret’s loving spirit and memories created with those around her will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
