Marie Bosley Obituary

Marie Sims Bosley was the daughter of the late Clarence Sims, Sr. and Lucinda (Williams) Sims. She was born on December 28,1941 at the St. Joseph Hospital in Joliet, Illinois.

Early in life she understood the importance of family and educational pursuit. Growing up in Joliet, educated within the Joliet Public Schools, she graduated from Joliet Township High School as a member of the Class of 1960. Later, she continued to excel in her educational endeavors to graduate as part of the Nursing Class of 1981 from Prairie State College, later completing the BSN Program at Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, Illinois.

She also recognized and understood the need for God's presence in her life, accepting Christ as her savior at an early age. Continuing through her life ensuring that she followed the word of God and truths in the Bible.

Marie moved to Chicago and was employed by the former Illinois Bell Telephone Company, the Chicago Board of Education, City Colleges of Chicago, and the Federal Department of Health Education and Welfare.

In 1971, Marie met and married Floyd A. Bosley, Jr. and to that union two sons, Christopher and Jonathan (the loves of her life) were born. Later, Floyd preceded her in death and she as a single mom ensured that her sons were provided for, with a purpose of providing them with goals that aligned with their gifts to ensure their success in life.

After earning her Nursing degree, Marie worked within several prestigious Hospital Systems including the University of Chicago, Decatur Memorial Hospital, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois, Rush Prudential Health Plans, and Cook County Health Systems; and was also a contract employee for several Insurance companies. She excelled as a nurse supporting both pediatrics and geriatrics during her tenure.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd A. Bosley, Jr., her parents, Clarence Sims Sr. and Lucinda Sims; and her brother Clarence Sims, Jr.

She leaves to mourn her passing, her two sons, Christopher M. Bosley of Pewaukee, WI and Jonathan S. (Jennifer) Bosley of Frankfort, Illinois; two grandchildren, Maya G. Bosley and Theodore E. Bosley both of Frankfort, Illinois; one sister-in-law, Emily Sims of Aurora, Illinois, and several nieces and nephews of Illinois and Texas.
