Marjorie McGee was born on August 27, 1946, in Paulding, MS to Columbus Sr. and Annie McGee. She was proud to be the nineth of 12 children born to this union.
Upon Marjorie graduating from South Side High School, she relocated to Joliet, IL in 1965 at the age of 18. She was a hard worker who had many jobs in many different professions. From being a server to a seamstress, and even a machinist, Marjorie took pride in every occupation she ever held. Marjorie finally retired from F & W Lounge as a bartender. She loved to watch old westerns, Jeopardy, and scary movies, and of course, her crime tv. Most of all, Marjorie enjoyed spending time with her family. Whether it was playing video games such as Pac-Man or telling stories to her grandchildren; listening to the blues on car rides to the mall, these were in fact, happy moments for Marjorie.
On Thursday afternoon on October 14, 2021, Marjorie’s spirit left this earthly plane to return home to our Heavenly Father.
Marjorie is preceded in death by her parents, seven siblings, Loreane Boyd, Columbus McGee, Jr., Otis “O.C.” McGee, Christine McGee, Curtis McGee, Robert “R.J.” McGee and Jessie McGee, and one sister-in-law, Ruthie McGee.
