Marshalette “Toodie” Strange was born January 22, 1946 in Chicago, Illinois to Hardie Lee and Thelma Alberta Strange (both preceded her in death). She was the oldest of ten children.; Ruth Ann, Michaeal Strange, and Jeffrey Kelly preceded her in death. Her grandson, Christopher Lee Hayes, also preceded her in death.
Marsha attended Gillespie Grammar School. C.V.S., Kennedy-King, and Olive Harvey. She excelled in many things, worked as a court stenographer throughout the county courts. She worked for many years and retired from Legal Services. Marsha was also a tax preparer until she became ill.
Marsha was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, cousin, and most of all, a great friend. She touched so many people in so many different ways. She always took pleasure in pleasing everyone around her through her cooking of her sweet generosity.
Marsha leaves to cherish her memory: her three loving and devoted children: sons, Jerald T. and Brian M. Hayes; daughter, Theresa Hayes-Long of Memphis, TN; daughter-in-law, Charrisse T. Hayes; son-in-law, Ricky R. Long; sisters, Donna Harris of Texas; Loretta Robinson, and Denise Kelly; brothers, Hardie Strange, Jr. (Vickey), Ronald Strange, and James Kelly (Rita); granddaughters. Marcy, Tosh, and Brittany; grandsons, Phil (Trina), Mark, and Jay (Brittany); 11 great-grandchildren, seven special nieces, Raven, Lil Toodie, Kim, Tonya, Stephanie, Honey, and Alberta; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and very close friends which includes
