MartIna Page, affectionately known as “Maude;” was born on September 13, 1949 to the late Nathaniel Thomas Sr. and Annie Mae Thomas in Brookhaven, Mississippi. Martina transitioned to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 12, 2025.
Martina attended Joliet East High School. Martina worked several jobs until she became ill in September 1988.
Martina enjoyed cooking, shopping and spending time with her family and friends. Martina was one of a kind, and she will be missed, her infectious laugh would light up any room; her sassy personality always kept things lively, especially when she would say “I ain’t kidding” with that mischievous twinkle in her eye.
She taught us all so much, from patience to empathy, always showing us the importance of understanding. Her heart was as big as her personality, and she gave so freely without ever expecting anything in return. She will be missed and forever will be in our hearts.
Martina was preceded in death by her parents, Nathaniel Thomas Sr. and Annie Mae Thomas; her devoted husband, Jerry J. Page Jr. (September 18, 2024); in-laws, Sam and Essie Page; one brother, Solaman Robinson; sister-in-law, Nebraska Brown.
Martina leaves to cherish her memories; one son, Jerry Page Jr.; grandchildren, Jerricka F. Page, Matthew Henderson of Oakland, CA, and Jordan Page of Youngstown, OH; great grandchildren, Jerrimiah Goatley and Jalaya Moore of Oakland, CA; two sisters, Zattie M. Thomas, Lorraine (John) Bolton of Illinois and one brother, Nathaniel Jr. (Stephanie) Thomas; one brother-in-law, Zeno (Clarke) Page; six sisters-in-law, Ellistine Yarbrough, Magnolia (Joseph) Farmer, Vivian Buchanon, Justina Page, Brenda Page and Undra Page; her very special and devoted friends, Delores Jenkins, Ethel Harrison and Helen Helms and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
