A Time To Be Born:
Mary Ann Montgomery was born on July 15, 1942, in Chicago, Illinois to the union of Leon and Estelle Montgomery. They preceded her in death. Mary Ann was the eldest of three daughters.
A Time for Commitment:
Mary Ann confessed and accepted the Lord at an early age on Chicago’s Southside. Mary Ann attended James R. Doolittle Elementary School, Dunbar Vocational High School, DePaul University Chicago, Malcom X College, and Richard J. Daley College in Chicago.
A Time To Rejoice:
Mary Ann while working as a medical professional, met her love John Bogan, and on September 1, 1974 they were married. With that union, a loving blended family was born.
A Time To Labor:
Mary Ann worked as a Lab Manger at St. Bernard Hospital for 37 years. She later decided to further her education, and in 1992 completed a degree in Nursing. Mary Ann served as an RN, at several hospitals throughout the Chicagoland area, she held both careers until she retired in 2009. The medical field was perfect for Mary Ann because of her affinity for everyone’s health and well-being, so much so she offered medical advice to everyone she met. Mary Ann was very petite but a mighty woman, a culinary artist, a great dancer, and had an eye for art and literature. In her free time, Mary Ann was involved in many sports activities throughout her life, she loved to travel, shop, spend time with her family and friends, and her pets. Even in retirement she continued to do arts and crafts through her floral arrangement business. Mary Ann had a green thumb, she loved gardening and had a knack for growing plants and flowers indoors and out.
A Time To Depart:
On Monday, September 23, 2024, Mary Ann gently slipped away to live in eternity with her Heavenly Father. Mary Ann never met any strangers, she will be dearly missed by everyone who knew, met, or was touched by her life.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her daughters: Lori A. Green (Terry), Necole D. Bryson; God given daughters: Phyllis Amos (Tyrone), Jocelyn Conwell. God given sons, John Bogan Jr., Michael Davis (Wanda); one sister, Shari D. Montgomery; grandson, Aaron M. Green; great grandson, Ashton L. Green; and a host of God given grandchildren, great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. Mary Ann was preceded in death by her husband, John Bogan; parents, Leon and Estelle Montgomery; and her sister, Catherine Clark.
