Mary Louise Jones was born in Pachuta, Mississippi to Wade and Lethia Jordan on August 3, 1928. She went home to be with the Lord on May 14, 2022.
Mary accepted Christ at an early age and walked in His grace. Mary worked as a Dietitian at the old St. Joseph Hospital at the original location on Bluff Street. In the mid 60s, Mary relocated to Columbus, OH where she worked at Rita's Nursing Home for the Department of Nursing Services until she retired. In 2004, Mary moved back to Joliet.
Mary was a big fan of basketball and could talk about the games with the best. Mary also loved to go to garage sales on the weekends. Most of all, Mary loved children. Be it her sons, grandchildren, grand nephews, or great-grandchildren, she loved them all dearly. Mary also served as a foster parent.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Gussie Jones; parents, Wade and Lethia Jordan-Crosby; four sisters, Ona Mae, Vanada, Glennie, and Mattie; four brothers, Leonard, Cephus, Swept, and Willie.
Mary leaves to cherish her memories, her three sons, Leandra (Darlene) Bradley Sr. of Joliet, IL, Dennis J. Bradley of Columbus, OH, and Gennareh (Aretha) Woods of Columbus, OH; one brother, Wade (Fairy) Jordan Jr. of Columbus, OH; one sister, Morine Epting of Chicago, IL; 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and two great great-grandchildren. Her best friend, Romae Carter, and host of other relatives and friends.
