Mary Tate Obituary

April 18, 1952, Mary Louise Tate was born in Merigold, Mississippi to Elizabeth "Curly" Morgan.  At a very early age she welcomed "Christ" into her life & she lived & served with Him as the head of her life.

Relocating to Illinois, Mary attended Bloom School then Lockport Central High School.  She later on married her husband of 38 years, Charlie Tate Sr..  Mary was employed with Westell for a many years until she pursured entrepreneurship in the early 90's.  She successfully ran her own home daycare for many years, as well as reopening her mother's well known local candy store.

Mary was truly an angle on earth. She was a huge spirit, she dearly loved her family and she will definitely be missed.

Mary was preceded in death by her mother, Elizabeth "Curly" Morgan, father, MC Morgan, daughter, Tina Marie Cowans-King, sister, Gail Morgan, grandmother, Willie Hudson, Aunty, Rosie Irons, cousin JT Cowan and nephew, Steve Eskridge. 

Mary leaves to cherish her memories to her loving husband, Charlie Tate Sr., her sons Michael and Lorenzo Sr. Samuel, her grandchildren, LaTaiva (Leander) Edmond, LaTasha (Xaiver) and LaShonda Cowans, DaJa Stepney, Lorenzo Samuel Jr., Maurice Samuel, Chamar Samuel, Omari Thomas & Christian Samuel. Her great grandchildren Mekhi Funches, Zyaire "LaLa" King, Kyaire Samuel, Kennedy King & Kori Samuel. Her siblings Larry(Sue) Cowan, Jerry Cowan (Jason/Ora), Steve Morgan, Shirley Reed (Kevin/Tanya), Rosemary Rouser (Portia/Kytonyo/Kynetta/ LaVern/Arthur/Earnest), Denise(Scott) (Donald/Leon/Jeffrey), special friend Connie Sutton-Johnson & a huge host of great neices, nephews, cousins and friends.
