Mattie Clark Obituary

Mattie “Lynn” Pearl Clark passed away on January 14, 2021 at her home in Joliet, Illinois.  Mattie was the oldest of 12 children born to the parents of Mosetta Bew Carter and Willie Neal in Grenada, Mississippi.  

Mattie was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, wife, friend and Christian.  Mattie went to school in Grenada, MS and moved to Joliet, Illinois where she met her husband, James Clark.  Mattie and James married and resided in Joliet and welcomed two girls, Joyce Neal and Lynetta Clark.  Mattie loved to go here and there for CYF, Usher, Missionary, Lad Day, Local, District Lay, Mattie was there.

Mattie was preceded in death by her parents, Mosetta Bew Carter and Willie Neal; loving husband, James “Nip” Clark; four sisters, Mozell Trotter, Willie Mae Drew, Bobbie L. Bridges and Ophal Ruth Bew Tedford; four brothers, Robert L. Bew, R.L. Bew, Theoda White and Jimmy Roger Bew.

To cherish her memories; she leaves her two daughters, Joyce Neal of Joliet, IL and Lynetta Clark of Las Vegas, NV; one grandson, James Ra’Jah (Tia) Clark, Sr. of Las Vegas, NV; two great grandsons, James Ra’Jah Clark Jr. and Onyx Zaire Clark, both of Las Vegas; three sisters, Betty J. Williams, Shirley (James) Harris and Joyce B. Bew of Grenada, MS; one sister-in-law, Vietta (Robert L.) Bew of Joliet, IL; two brothers-in-law, William (Ophal) Tedford and A.D. (Bobbie L.) Bridges of Grenada, MS and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and a host of friends and special friends.
