Maurice DeAndre Blalock

Maurice DeAndre Blalock was born on Sunday, March 9, 1969 in Joliet, Illinois to Louise Blalock and Percy W. "Billy" Payne (Bessie).

Maurice attended Gompers and Washington Jr. High Schools in Joliet, Illinois. Upon relocating to San Jose, California, Maurice attended and graduated from San Jose High School in 1987.

In 1987, Maurice joined the United States Naval Academy. He served as a medic at the Port of Los Angeles in Long Beach, California. After leaving the U.S. Navy, Maurice worked as a machinist.

As a child, Maurice was a member of Prayer Tower Ministries C.O.G.I.C. in Joliet, Illinois where he participated in Junior Choir, Sunshine Band, and as Junior Usher under the leadership of Pastor Robert L. Dorris.

Maurice went to be with the Lord on Thursday June 27, 2024 at Memorial of Gardena Hospital in Gardena, California.

Maurice is predeceased by his "dad", Maurice Adrian Bell, four maternal uncles: Thomas Sr., Ramon, Kenneth, and Richard Blalock, two maternal aunts: Wilma Blalock and Nellie Jenkins.

Maurice leaves to celebrate his life, his mother, Louise Blalock Bell, his father, Percy W. Payne; one son, Marqui DeAndre Blalock (Vianey) of Phoenix, AZ, one daughter, Kreejay Blalock of Lancaster, CA, three granddaughters: Alayah Nicole and Sienna Grace Blalock and Island Patterson, one grandson, King Patterson, one childhood friend, Blake Weeks (Stacey) of Joliet, IL, three maternal aunts: Brenda and Sue Blalock of Redondo Beach, CA and Mavis Blalock Conway (Shinall) of Lewisville, TX, one maternal uncle, Larry Blalock of Manhattan, NY, one maternal great uncle, Leo Chapman of Chicago, IL, one maternal great aunt, Easter Buckley of Memphis, TN, one paternal great aunt, Juanita Blalock of Chicago,IL. and a host of cousins and other relatives.
